From Intention to Action: Riza Mahardika's Plan for a Peace Curriculum

Fellowship applicant Riza Mahardika outlines plans for peace workshops, a peace curriculum, peer mentoring, and a digital interaction guidebook.

Good intentions to build respectful communities need to become measurable steps. That is the spirit Riza Mahardika, S.Sos., M.Med.Kom., a practitioner lecturer and digital marketing professional, brings to her application for the I TEACH PEACE Champions Fellowship. In her application, she outlines four concrete plans she intends to carry out if she takes part in the program.

"This fellowship is a great opportunity to turn the leadership foundation I have built into systematic, measurable, peace-oriented improvement," Riza said.

## Conflict Transformation Workshops

Her first plan is to design structured workshops using evidence-based methods for conflict transformation and peace learning. The workshops aim to help students and professionals identify the roots of tension, practice empathetic dialogue, and use restorative approaches to resolve disputes. "Not just surface-level solutions, but toward lasting repair of relationships," she added.

## A Peace Curriculum for Academics and Professionals

Second, Riza plans to develop a peace curriculum for academic and professional groups that combines emotional intelligence, media literacy, and cross-ethnic interaction skills. The modules will be based on best practices in peace learning and piloted in digital marketing communities, classrooms, and the professional networks she belongs to.

Notably, everyday professional skills such as communication strategy and audience analysis will be reframed through a peace lens, so participants can work together respectfully and constructively even when they disagree.

## A Peer Mentoring Ecosystem

Third, she wants to build a peer mentoring ecosystem within her network. Participants are expected to become ambassadors of peace values who strengthen a culture of respectful discussion, shared accountability, and collaborative problem-solving.

## A Guidebook on Digital Interaction

Fourth, through documentation and reflective practice, Riza plans to publish a practice-based guidebook on peace-centered digital interaction, intended not only for her peers but also for the wider professional community.

## Peace as an Everyday Reality

Through these steps, Riza hopes the desire to build respectful, empathetic, and ethical communities can become a framework for action that produces measurable behavior change, reduces conflict, and strengthens inclusive practices.

"I want peace to stop being an abstract ideal and become a reality in organizations and in the digital world," she concluded.
