Valo puts shared-interest group chats at the centre of meeting new people online

31 October 2026 — What do you say to someone new? For people who would rather start with a shared interest than a blank profile or an existing contacts list, Valo offers a place to find a group conversation and join in. Bonbon Group Ltd is spotlighting this approach following Valo's version 1.5 release on 7 October 2026, a date confirmed by the company. This is a retrospective look at Valo, not an announcement that version 1.5 is newly released today or a claim about what changed specifically in that version. On Valo, people can browse public groups around interests, join a conversation or create a group around a topic they want to talk about. It might start with a question about a game, a piece of music or another interest; the point is to give a conversation somewhere to begin. Group chats support text, photos and voice notes, while one-to-one chat is available if people want to keep talking privately. The app is designed for online conversation with new people, not dating or arranging in-person meetups. Meeting people can feel awkward without a natural opening. Valo's group-first design aims to make that first conversation easier, without claiming to have measured any improvement in loneliness or friendship outcomes. Valo is free for iPhone and iPad. Since version 1.5, a newer version 1.6 was released on 26 October 2026; Apple's public listing describes its improvements to group invitations and navigation.
