Brentwood, Tennessee — June 23, 2026 — Newsom Educational College is announcing its ongoing development as a nonprofit educational organization focused on creating a future model of accessible, supportive, and innovative higher education.Founded by Blake Newsom, NECollege is currently in the planning and development phase and is working toward meeting all applicable requirements for future authorization to operate as an institution of higher education. NECollege is not currently enrolling students or offering degree programs.
“Newsom Educational College was created from a belief that education should open doors for people, not limit them,” said Blake Newsom, Founder and President & Chancellor of NECollege. “This development phase allows us to build a strong foundation, develop quality programs, and prepare an institution centered around student success, accessibility, and opportunity.”
NECollege’s mission is to develop an educational environment that supports learners through academic growth, career preparation, personal development, and community engagement. The institution’s future vision includes innovative learning opportunities designed to meet the needs of diverse students and prepare graduates for a changing world.
The development of Newsom Educational College is rooted in years of advocacy, education, and community service. Founder Blake Newsom’s background includes degrees in psychology and applied behavior analysis, professional experience supporting individuals and families, and a commitment to expanding educational access.
“Many people have dreams but do not always have access to the right opportunities or support systems,” Newsom said. “Our goal is to create a place where students can discover their strengths, pursue their goals, and know they belong.”
During this development phase, NECollege is focused on:

Preparing for the state authorization process
