KidPixi is a family memory platform that helps parents document their children’s development from pregnancy onward through photos, notes and guided questions. Supported by İTÜ Çekirdek and BTM, the startup brings children’s growing-up stories together in one place through a question-based memory experience, family participation and the ability to quickly capture memories via WhatsApp.Founded in 2025 by Ayça Özcan Türkoğlu, a former senior executive at a US-based company, KidPixi was created around a simple observation: parents accumulate thousands of photos as their children grow, but the stories behind those photos can easily be forgotten.
An analysis of behavior from more than 3,000 KidPixi users revealed an interesting insight into how parents record their children’s memories. Approximately 70% of users created their memories in relation to KidPixi’s question-based experience. The finding suggests that parents may find it easier to remember and record moments from their children’s lives when they are prompted with a question rather than asked to start writing from a blank page.
“Technology has given us the ability to capture almost every moment of our children’s lives. Now we need to think about how we can preserve the moments that truly matter among all this content,” says Ayça Özcan Türkoğlu, Founder of KidPixi.
Türkoğlu emphasizes that KidPixi is not designed to encourage parents to take more photos, but to help them add context and stories to the photos they already take and turn them into a meaningful family archive.
“A child’s growing-up story is not made up of photos alone. The reason a photo was taken, something that was said that day, or a small detail that may otherwise be forgotten years later can all be part of that story. With KidPixi, we want to make capturing these moments a natural and easy part of everyday life for parents,” says Türkoğlu.
Based on this approach, KidPixi has also brought its question-based memory experience to WhatsApp. Parents can now respond to questions directly through WhatsApp and record their children’s memories without having to open a separate app or set aside additional time. Family members can also contribute to the memory collection, allowing photos, notes and memories to gradually become a digital family archive documenting a child’s growth.
