GLASGOW, Scotland — Riverbank IT Systems has launched a fixed-price remote repair service covering any business IT issue for £39.99 + VAT — a deliberately small offer aimed at the thousands of problems too minor for a managed contract but too urgent to ignore.
Most IT support companies only want clients who sign monthly contracts. A small business with a broken email account, a printer that will not connect, or a website announcing an expired security certificate is often told to buy a support plan first — or is simply ignored. Riverbank's fixed-price repair is built for exactly those jobs: a technician diagnoses and fixes the problem remotely, with the first 20 minutes covered by the £39.99 fee and anything larger quoted in writing before work starts.
The published catalogue covers 139 of the issues the firm is asked about most — from forgotten passwords and failed Windows updates to hacked websites, unsupported PHP versions, VoIP call faults, card terminals offline and Sage or Xero errors — but the company stresses the offer is not limited to a list.
"If it is a business IT problem, we will fix it — the catalogue is simply what we are asked about most," said Timothy, founder of Riverbank IT Systems. "Big providers don't want a £39 job. We do. Most small businesses only need help when something breaks, and they shouldn't have to sign a contract to get it."
The remote service is available to businesses across Scotland, Northern England and Northern Ireland, with the company promising contact within 15–30 minutes of an enquiry during its 24/7 coverage. Riverbank says the offer has already been used to fix end-of-life PHP versions on business websites — a fault it found on around a third of sites checked in a recent study of more than 2,300 dental practice websites across its coverage area.
