HONG KONG — November 3, 2026 — Leung Siu Ching, a 32-year-old construction site worker (地盤工) in Hong Kong and father to an 8-year-old son, today announced a live crowdfunding campaign on GoGetFunding aimed at raising US$1,000,000 toward a first family home in Hong Kong.Hong Kong remains among the world's most expensive places to buy a home. Leung's campaign, titled "Helping Me Take the First Step Toward a Home in Hong Kong," is a keep-what-you-raise fundraiser with Stripe payments enabled. As of launch, the campaign has raised approximately US$0 toward its goal.
"Housing here is brutally expensive, and I'm trying something bold," Leung said. "If enough people chip in, maybe we can actually take a real step toward owning a place for my family."
The campaign invites donors to email a selfie after contributing. If the goal is reached and a home is purchased, Leung plans to print supporters' selfies as wallpaper and on household items in proportion to gift size — a tangible way for backers to become part of the home.
