AHMEDABAD:
In a remarkable feat of knowledge, dedication and spiritual learning, 12-year-old Ahmedabad student Parth Atul Morjaria has secured the 1st Rank in the prestigious Sri Krishna Contest, emerging victorious among more than 1,500 participants drawn from different age groups across the city. His achievement has placed a young school student at the centre of a celebration of India’s spiritual and cultural heritage.

A student of Class 6 at The New Tulip International School, Ahmedabad, Parth participated in the mega city-wide competition organised by ISKCON Temple, Bhadaj, Ahmedabad, under its celebrated Gita Olympiad initiative. The contest, held last month, witnessed enthusiastic participation from people across generations, ranging from young schoolchildren to elderly citizens.

The competition tested participants on their knowledge and understanding of Shree Krishna and His childhood leelas (divine pastimes). Facing a field of more than 1,500 contestants of varied ages, Parth distinguished himself through his preparation, focus and deep engagement with the subject. His success, he says, is also a result of the divine blessings of Shree Krishna.

The scale of the competition makes Parth’s accomplishment particularly noteworthy. Competing against participants far older than him, the young student demonstrated that age is no barrier to intellectual curiosity, disciplined learning and an enduring connection with India’s civilisational knowledge traditions.

A grand prize distribution ceremony was subsequently organised at the auditorium of ISKCON Bhadaj. In the presence of spiritual dignitaries and temple management, including the President of ISKCON Bhadaj, Parth was felicitated on stage for his outstanding performance. He was presented with a Gold Medal and Certificate of Achievement in recognition of securing the coveted first position.

Parth’s accomplishment has brought immense pride to his parents, teachers and The New Tulip International School, while also becoming a moment of celebration for Ahmedabad. His success is particularly significant at a time when young people are increasingly exploring diverse forms of knowledge, as it reflects how traditional Indian spiritual and cultural learning can continue to inspire the younger generation.

From a competition involving more than 1,500 participants to standing alone at the top, Parth’s journey is a testament to the power of curiosity, perseverance and focused learning. His achievement offers an inspiring example of a young mind engaging meaningfully with India’s rich spiritual heritage while excelling in a competitive academic environment.
