Berlin, 3 November 2026 – Nordhain Finanz Inc., Northcrest Energy & Real Estate Inc. and Steffen Fräbel are preparing lawsuits in connection with the disputed reporting by StadtrandNachrichten. The legal review covers the responsibility of the media operator and of author and publisher Daniela von Treuenfels personally. We emphatically reject the portrayal of our business preparations, which we consider damaging to our reputation and business. The description of Nordhain as a “letterbox company” and the impression conveyed, in our assessment, that serious business preparations are lacking are unacceptable to us. Anyone who publicly questions our credibility must address our specific objections and documents in a reasoned and transparent manner.
Nordhain has a business office in Berlin, a business registration and confirmed membership of the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Berlin). Tax registration and the allocation of a German tax number have been applied for.
Both Nordhain Finanz Inc. and Northcrest Energy & Real Estate Inc. have received a Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) from Bloomberg. Nordhain's LEI is 254900AMS1N0A79A5B17, and Northcrest's LEI is 254900AMXCBECDC6YT32. Nordhain Finanz Inc.'s common shares have also been assigned ISIN US6555741015, WKN A42QTV and CUSIP 655574101.
These circumstances form part of a factual assessment of the company. They must not simply be disregarded when assessing our objections.
We are particularly critical of the mixing of verifiable information with speculation. Regarding a claim under discussion, the article states, in translation: “It is likely that the amount under discussion is much larger.” The freely accessible part of the text does not state a specific higher amount with a corresponding source of evidence for this assessment. We object to the possibility that such speculation, in the context of the portrayal of our companies, may leave readers with an adverse impression.
We also demand a clear distinction between the legal entities. Insolvency proceedings and tax disputes involving another company must not be attributed to our companies. Whether the reporting, taken as a whole, creates such a misleading impression is to form part of the legal review.
The continued publication despite our objections submitted in writing gives us the impression of a targeted effort to discredit our companies. We see this as a significant threat to our business reputation and to the confidence of potential investors and project partners. Such portrayals can place obstacles in the way of serious business preparations.
Unsupported assumptions do not become facts through repetition. We will not accept without objection a public disparagement of our companies that, in our view, rests on speculative and misleading grounds. Through the lawsuits being prepared, we intend to have the specific statements examined by a court and to pursue substantiated claims consistently.
Daniela von Treuenfels has many years of journalistic experience and served in a full-time position on the executive board of Stiftung Bildung. For that very reason, we expect careful research and a responsible approach to substantiated objections from her. Earlier editorial changes are documented on the portal itself: a correction notice in the Goerzbahn article of 19 December 2023 concerning Christian Goiny's objectives, and a clarification in the article of 5 May 2024 about the AfD group's status in the district assembly concerning Andreas Wild's alleged party membership.
We also expect clear and verifiable information about the history of the portal's operators and its financing. The current legal notice names Daniela von Treuenfels as publisher. A previous takeover by Stadtteilzentrum Steglitz e.V. is historically documented; the transition to the current publishing arrangement could not be conclusively reconstructed from the documents examined. Historical financial information about the association has been published. We have not found a complete current statement of the portal's income.
We maintain our demand for the disputed article to be taken offline in full on an interim basis. A review of claims for injunctive relief and correction, as well as compensation for demonstrable and attributable losses, is being prepared. Possible lawsuits in the United States are also being examined with regard to jurisdiction and the requirements for a claim.
