Virtual Ride brings real Street View roads to indoor cycling

Finnish studio Otter Media launched Virtual Ride, an indoor cycling web app that uses Google Street View so riders can train on real roads worldwide. Open demos are on /rides, with a 7-day web trial.

HELSINKI, Finland — Virtual Ride, built by Otter Media, is now live for indoor cyclists who want real roads instead of a game map.

Riders connect a Bluetooth smart trainer, pick Google Street View–covered streets and neighborhoods, and ride them indoors with effort-linked pacing. The idea is simple: train on roads you actually know, or explore climbs and cities anywhere Street View covers.

Open demo rides are available at https://virtualride.app/rides, and a 7-day web trial is offered for people who want to try a full session before committing. An iPhone app is in App Store review.

Virtual Ride is developed in Finland by Otter Media (Y-tunnus 2312241-4). More information: https://virtualride.app
