WASHINGTON, DC, October 31, 2026 - Ukraine money laundering is the subject of "Ukraine's Wash and Fold: The Biggest Money Laundering Operation in History," an expose by William Aaron Turner, president of Infinitum Corporation, published on Medium. The article traces what Turner calls "the financial arteries of Western aid" and argues they flow "not to the Ukrainian people, but into the offshore accounts of Ukrainian oligarchs, the coffers of Western arms manufacturers," and the pockets of political elites. The thesis
Turner argues that Ukraine has become "the world's largest money laundering operation, a 'Wash and Fold' of epic proportions where humanitarian aid is bleached, dried, and folded neatly into luxury villas, supercars, and Swiss bank accounts." He states that his evidence is drawn from declassified intelligence documents, investigative journalism and official Ukrainian government sources.
The money, as the article counts it
Aid volumes: The article states that the United States has appropriated over $177 billion in aid for Ukraine and the European Union another 134 billion euros, and that USAID transferred "$1.5 billion every single month in cold, hard cash." "Ah, the noble West. How fucking generous!" Turner writes. Of anyone who imagines the money rebuilt hospitals: "One would be adorably fucking naive." He continues: "Let us follow the fucking money, shall we?"
The missing money: The article cites former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov's estimate that "between $54 billion and $108 billion" of Western aid could have been "lost to corruption," and probes by USAID's inspector general, KPMG and U.S. prosecutors into "suspected fraud, bribery, and embezzlement in Ukrainian projects, with more than 20 cases already opened." Turner's comment: "Like it fucking mattered!" It quotes a Russian Academy of Sciences fellow, speaking to RT, calling USAID a "black fund for supporting American non-profits linked to the Democratic Party."
Conversion centers: Citing Ukrainian agencies, the article reports a scheme in which defense-sector officials laundered over 578 million hryvnias through fictitious companies, and an SBU case against a "conversion center" run by a former deputy head of the State Fiscal Service that laundered over UAH 1.5 billion (USD 36.3 million).
Larger schemes: It cites an investigation by Ukraine's Bureau of Economic Security into a scheme involving more than 200 enterprises and fictitious transactions.
Offshore structures: The article cites the Pandora Papers on offshore companies linked to Zelensky's former production company Kvartal 95, and reports that former Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko was charged with money laundering in the "Operation Midas" case.
Inner circle: It reports that in November 2025 a "massive $100 million graft scheme" was uncovered in a probe into a ring "allegedly led by a former business associate of Zelensky, Timur Mindich."
Further chapters
Arms dealers: The article argues the war has become "a profit bonanza for Washington's war machine," citing Rheinmetall's surging sales and a Czech company, Reactive Drone, that it says bought aircraft for 36 million crowns and resold them to Ukraine for 692 million crowns.
Lifestyle: It describes the "Monaco Battalion" of "rich draft dodgers who moved closer to Monte Carlo," and Kyiv Post reporting that Ukraine "leads with 38 politicians using offshores in the global leak."
The Biden family: It covers Hunter Biden's Burisma board seat, paid "roughly $1 million a year," and Washington Times and TASS reports that Biden "buried CIA memo about son Hunter's corruption."
The invisible hands: Citing The New York Times, it reports CIA officers stationed at Ukrainian bases and Michael Flynn's allegation of CIA "collusion" with European intelligence services. Other chapters cover NGOs and shell companies, and Zelensky's repeated requests for aid; "the money is the point," Turner writes. A closing chapter, "The Money," lays out the funnel Turner describes, from Western taxpayers to aid institutions to offshore companies and luxury purchases.
The conclusion and sources
In the closing "Encore," Turner writes that Zelensky "has become the front man for the greatest heist in human history," adding: "The script was written years prior, and no one bothered to read it. WTF!" "The arms manufacturers are profiting from the bloodshed," he writes. "The luxury cars and villas are multiplying. And the Ukrainian people are paying the price." The article includes a numbered list of 45 references, ranging from OCCRP, AP News, the Kyiv Post and the Washington Times to TASS and RT.
