MADRID, Spain, October 24, 2026. Leaving a relationship built on manipulation rarely happens in one dramatic moment. It is a process, often slow and full of doubts, with steps forward and steps back. The catalogue of Mike Sain't Louis, the Madrid-based lyricist, composer and music producer behind Planeta Gayfolk, returns to this experience again and again. Three songs in particular can be heard as a small trilogy of escape, and this release suggests listening to them in sequence. As with all his work, Mike Sain't Louis writes the lyrics, composes and produces, while the music and the vocal performance are made with AI. He calls himself the first AI songwriter.
Stage one: the moment the curtain falls
The journey starts with «Una obra de teatro», a short lyric about the instant of realisation. The narrator has just understood that years of shared life may have been staged, and the words stumble out as a question: «Me estás diciendo que todo / Era Una / Obra de teatro?». Seven years on a stage, the song says, and the hardest part is not only the pain but the need to explain it to others who may not believe it.
What makes this song the right starting point is its honesty about confusion. The narrator still feels pity, still wants to help the other person. But the final line points the way forward with three simple words: «al menos sálvate tú». At least save yourself. That is where the journey begins.
Stage two: the decision, with dignity
The second song, «No te vuelvo a mirar más», is about leaving without a scene. Its verses list the contradictions of the person left behind, promises of respect answered with contempt, requests for silence followed by shouting. Then comes a chorus built of four refusals: «No recojo lo que tiras, / no devuelvo lo que das. / No me quedo en tus mentiras, / no te vuelvo a mirar más».
The key image of this stage is a door closed gently: «y cerré despacio para no dar la vuelta». Not a slam, which still invites a reaction, but a careful, deliberate closing, done slowly precisely so as not to look back. It is the sound of a decision that has already been made inside before it is carried out.
Stage three: staying out
Leaving is one thing; not returning is another. The third song, «Manual de escape de un narci», is literally a set of instructions for the period after the break, when the other person may try to pull you back with tears, threats or promises. Its advice is direct: «Primero que nada, no le des reacción», first of all, give no reaction. Later: «Si vuelve con lágrimas, pidiendo perdón, / ya tiene otro plan de manipulación».
Its chorus offers the most comforting idea of the whole trilogy: the best response is to live well. «Su mayor castigo es verte brillar». Their greatest punishment is to see you shine. No revenge is needed, no final argument, no last word.
Why music helps
People who have left controlling relationships often describe the same difficulty: the old words keep echoing in their head long after the door has closed. Songs can answer back. A chorus repeated in the shower or on the bus is a small, portable reminder of what was decided and why. These three tracks work in that way, each giving the listener a phrase to hold on to at a different stage.
They also avoid two traps. They do not make the listener feel foolish for having stayed, and they do not turn the other person into a cartoon villain who is easy to recognise from a distance. They stay close to the experience itself, which is why so many listeners recognise themselves in them.
A planet that knows this story
Much of Planeta Gayfolk deals with manipulation and recovery, often with humour and sometimes with fury. These songs name nobody. They are written so that anyone who has lived something similar can find their own story inside them. For queer listeners in particular, who sometimes go through these relationships with less family support, a catalogue that understands the experience can make a real difference.
If the weight becomes too much, help is available. In Spain, 024 offers free, confidential support 24 hours a day to anyone in crisis, including thoughts of suicide; in an emergency, call 112.
The image
The illustration accompanying this release shows no people: just a door standing open in a dark room, with warm light spilling across the floor. It is the image that connects all three songs.
