JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C., October 9, 2026 — Simone Mitchell, a North Carolina father of three, is asking people across the United States to help raise $10,000 through his family’s GoFundMe to pay debts in his late wife Katie’s estate through the executor.
Katie died of ovarian cancer in September 2024. Mitchell says the loss has brought emotional and financial challenges for his family, and he is seeking donations of any amount toward this immediate estate-debt need.
