FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE# Last Pixel Launches a Live "Marathon of Persistence" on Base Where the Last Player Standing Wins Up to $1,000,000
### A 1,000,000-pixel social experiment turns patience — not luck — into a prize pool paid entirely by an on-chain smart contract
**July 2026** — Last Pixel, a web3 social experiment built on Coinbase's Base network, has gone live with a simple but unusual premise: one million pixels, one survivor, and an entire prize pool of up to **$1,000,000** that goes to whoever refuses to quit the longest.
Anyone can claim a pixel and join the game. The rules are deliberately minimal: in each timed "window," every participant confirms with a single click that they are still in. Miss a window — even by seconds — and you are eliminated, permanently. Each new window is shorter than the last, so the field steadily thins out until **a single active participant remains and takes the whole pool.**
Unlike a lottery or a game of chance, Last Pixel rewards endurance. "We wanted to flip the usual internet logic on its head," said a spokesperson for the project. "Online, the winner is usually the luckiest, the loudest, or whoever the algorithm favors. Here, the winner is simply the person who shows up and refuses to give up. It's a live map of human attention and willpower."
**Trust-minimized by design.** The prize pool is held by an immutable smart contract on Base. The organizers do not participate, cannot win, and — critically — have no function to withdraw the pool. Funds can only go to the winner, or back to participants in an emergency refund. Every window's state is hashed on-chain and published to an open repository, so anyone can independently verify the game.
**Built to resist bots.** Because the project's entire premise depends on real human persistence, confirmations require live human verification, and automated participation is actively blocked. There is also an economic barrier: every pixel costs real money, so flooding the game with bots would mean paying for thousands of entries with no guarantee of winning.
**A referral program that pays creators on-chain.** Last Pixel also rewards those who bring in players. Referrers earn a fixed amount for every participant who joins through their link — paid automatically and anonymously straight to their wallet by the contract — plus a separate prize fund for the top referrers, with leaderboard rewards of $30,000, $20,000 and $10,000 for the top three at full sellout. Ready-made promotional posts are available in-app in nine languages.
Last Pixel is an experiment-marathon for participants aged 18+, and is not a lottery or an investment product.

## About Last Pixel
Last Pixel is a web3 social experiment on the Base network exploring persistence, collective behavior and digital ownership. A canvas of 1,000,000 pixels becomes a living test of human attention: the last participant to keep confirming activity wins the entire prize pool, paid transparently and verifiably by an on-chain smart contract that the organizers cannot touch.
