Freedom Hills Therapeutic Riding Program Announces Inaugural Annual Reindeer Run 5K to Support Therapeutic Equine Programs

PORT DEPOSIT, MD — Freedom Hills Therapeutic Riding Program is excited to announce its upcoming Reindeer Run 5K, scheduled for December 6, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The event will take place at the organization’s facility located at 33 Rolling Hills Ranch Lane, Port Deposit, MD 21904. Local community organizations and media outlets are kindly requested to add this charity event to their digital calendars, websites, and social media event pages.

The Reindeer Run 5K serves as a vital fundraiser to support the diverse equine-assisted activities hosted by the organization. All proceeds directly benefit community initiatives, including therapeutic riding lessons for individuals with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities, a dedicated military veterans program and drill team, and specialized outreach for at-risk youth.

“As a Desert Storm US Army Veteran and employee of Rolling Hills Ranch, I have seen transformation of some of the students that I have had the privilege to work with,” said Debbie Duncan. “I have seen a shy little girl become one of the best riders that I’ve had the privilege to work with.”

Registration includes an official race shirt, a finisher award, and a post-race complimentary meal ticket.

The 5K will coincide with the organization’s annual Christmas with the Ponies celebration, which features free admission and family-friendly holiday activities available for purchase.
