The High Altitude Science Summit, a one-day, all-ages gathering for people who fly instruments, teach about the atmosphere, and build the next lightweight platform, has opened its call for vendors and attendees for Saturday, March 13, 2027, in Olney, Illinois. Seats and vendor spots are limited.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OLNEY, Ill. (Oct. 2, 2026) - Aerostratospheric, an Illinois nonprofit, today announced a call for vendors and a call for attendees for the High Altitude Science Summit, a one-day, all-ages public gathering on Saturday, March 13, 2027, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central Time in Olney, Illinois. Seats and vendor spots are limited.

The summit is a working day for near-space science, built for people who fly instruments, teach about the atmosphere, and build the next lightweight platform. Researchers and flyers, payload teams, high-altitude balloon operators, amateur radio operators, educators and students, 4-H and Civil Air Patrol members, university labs, and families are all welcome. No prior flight experience is needed.

The program is designed for conversation as much as display. The day opens with a meet and greet at 10 a.m., followed by an opening pass through the vendor showcase at 10:30 a.m. From 11 a.m. to noon, Aerostratospheric hosts a featured guest-vendor hour on platforms, open atmospheric data, and Midwest-made flight hardware. From noon to 1 p.m., special guest speaker Jeremy David Higgs leads a round table with other special guests on advanced technology and high-altitude science. From 1 to 3 p.m., the floor is open for vendor displays, demos, and working conversations, and the day ends with a closing ceremony from 3 to 4 p.m.

Call for vendors
