Riverbank IT Systems, a Glasgow-based IT support company, has added PHP error fixes, PHP version upgrades and security patching to its published £39.99 plus VAT fixed-price remote repair service, and launched a plain-English page explaining what the service covers.
The new page sets out the PHP problems the company fixes remotely for businesses: fatal errors and white screens after updates, "500 Internal Server Error" pages, deprecated-function warnings after PHP 7 to 8 upgrades, plugins and themes broken by a PHP version change, memory and timeout limits, database connection errors, broken contact forms and outdated PHP versions flagged by security scans.
The fixed price covers the first 20 minutes of remote diagnosis and repair, during which the team reads the site's error logs, identifies the cause and applies small fixes on the spot. Larger work — a full PHP 8 migration, a hacked-site clean-up or a custom application rewrite — is scoped and quoted in writing before any further chargeable work starts.
"PHP problems look frightening from the outside but they are usually one small fault," said Timothy A., founder of Riverbank IT Systems. "The fixed price means a business knows what the first 20 minutes costs before it picks up the phone."
The service is delivered remotely across Scotland, Northern England and Northern Ireland from the company's Glasgow headquarters, with a 24/7 helpdesk for urgent problems. The company works on WordPress and other common content management systems, framework-based applications such as Laravel, and bespoke PHP code.
