FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASENew Book “Elderly Diary” Raises Awareness of Growing Elder Abuse Crisis
According to the World Health Organization, an estimated 320 million people worldwide could suffer from elder abuse by 2050. Author Andrew Lawrence hopes to bring greater public awareness to this growing issue through his newly released nonfiction work, “Elderly Diary.”
As a bedridden patient in a transitional care facility for two months, Lawrence documented his personal experiences in a detailed diary that later became the foundation for the book. “Elderly Diary” presents a firsthand account of elder abuse in America, including documented experiences involving neglect, malnutrition, bruises, and bedsores.
Containing more than 150 pages and over 50 photographs, the book provides readers with a rare and personal look into the realities some elderly individuals face while under care.
“Elder abuse can affect your loved ones, your family, and your friends,” said Lawrence. “Awareness is the first step toward prevention.”
Beyond his work as an author, Andrew Lawrence has written more than 20 life-improvement books available on Amazon. Prior to his mobility challenges, he was also a fine art photographer with thousands of images featured on Fine Art America.
“Elderly Diary” is now available on Amazon and through digital download.
