EarthLive.TV, the live webcam platform featuring cameras from every country on Earth, today announced the launch of a 24/7 live stream of Korea Central Television (KCTV), North Korea's state broadcaster - accessible to anyone in the world without a VPN, subscription, or diplomatic clearance.
The stream, embedded directly on EarthLive.TV and broadcast live on the platform's YouTube channel, makes North Korean state television available alongside hundreds of other live cameras from around the world - from beach cams in Australia to city feeds in Tokyo.
"When we started EarthLive.TV, the last country we ever expected to add a live camera listing for was North Korea," said a spokesperson for EarthLive.TV. "Turns out we were wrong."
Korea Central Television broadcasts Monday to Friday from 3pm to 10:30pm Pyongyang time, with news broadcasts at 5pm, 8pm and 10:30pm daily. A test card is shown when off air.
North Korea is not a member of the World Intellectual Property Organization and has not issued any content restrictions on international access to KCTV, which has been broadcast on international satellites for years - a deliberate soft power strategy similar to China's CGTN and Russia's RT.
