More than just a provision for sun protection, this design integrates safety, comfort, and aesthetics. Mixed shade sail colours create new opportunities to invigorate outdoor spaces.Using shade sail colours, as they have done for Corymbia State School, Park Ridge, isn’t just a stylistic choice made by Versatile Structures;it’s a powerful way to add depth and dimension to aspace.
The Power of Two Tones promotes the following:
⭐️Enhancing Visual Appeal: Two shades of complementary colours create an architectural element that is visually compelling and draws the user’s eye to different activity zones.
⭐️Defining Activity Zones: Complementary shades establish separate areas of a space, such as an active play zone and a quiet zone, without the use of a physical barrier.
⭐️Smart Light Control: A shade sail of a lighter tone combined with one of a darker tone provides a means of safe UV filtration of light.
⭐️Design Impact: The dual-tone approach delivers a tailored, high-end finish, enhancing the overall character of the school grounds. When carefully selected, the colours complement surrounding buildings and landscapes, creating a cohesive and visually balanced environment.
The Co-founder and Director of Versatile Structures, Jamie Howard, said, “Our goal was to design a shade solution that goes beyond utility. At Corymbia State School, we wanted to create something that feels vibrant, structured, and inviting, an outdoor space where students genuinely want to spend time.”
The completed installation reflects Versatile Structures’ commitment to delivering innovative, durable, and design-forward shade solutions tailored to educational environments across Australia.
