Comfort Home Restaurant

Comfort Home Restaurant is the vision of Federico Pettazzoni and Mario Zamboni, inspired by their shared passion for cuisine, hospitality, research, and the transformation of exceptional artisanal ingredients. After years of experience in different areas of the restaurant industry, united by a long-standing friendship and common values, they created Comfort Home Restaurant in 2024 inside Federico's home in San Giorgio di Piano, just outside Bologna.
Their ambition was simple yet meaningful: to redefine the restaurant experience by creating a place where guests feel genuinely welcomed, cared for, and at home.
Everything they do is guided by three essential principles: Good. Clean. Fair.

The Chefs

Federico Pettazzoni

Born in Bologna, a city renowned for its culinary heritage and convivial spirit, Federico has always been passionate about discovering exceptional artisan producers and outstanding ingredients. After founding Giro di Vite in 2009, he further enriched his career through prestigious professional experiences, including the two-Michelin-starred San Domenico Restaurant in Imola. Today, he opens the doors of his own home to offer guests an intimate dining experience where hospitality and cuisine become one.

Mario Zamboni

Born into a Bolognese family with strong Sicilian roots, Mario grew up surrounded by the values of sharing, generosity, and togetherness. His culinary journey began in Valencia in 2004, where the vibrant energy of professional kitchens captured his imagination. Back in Bologna, he refined his craft in several restaurants, expressing his passion through every dish he created. Together with Federico, he has found the freedom to express his creativity while honoring tradition and remaining true to the values that define his cuisine.

The Comfort Project

Comfort Home Restaurant is, first and foremost, a home.
Part of Federico's house has been transformed into a creative culinary laboratory with an intimate dining room that welcomes just fifteen guests.
Warm interiors, elegant furnishings, and soft, comfortable seating create an atmosphere where guests can truly relax, while attentive and professional service makes them feel genuinely cared for. Comfort is also a versatile venue, perfect for tailor-made private dinners, celebrations, corporate events, and special occasions.
The restaurant is open exclusively by reservation, with bespoke menus designed together with each guest to reflect their tastes, preferences, and expectations.

A story of tradition, craftsmanship, curiosity, and respect for ingredients.
The cuisine at Comfort Home Restaurant combines family traditions with both ancient and modern cooking techniques, carefully chosen to preserve the natural flavors and nutritional qualities of every ingredient.
Cooking over charcoal plays a central role through the use of Kamado grills, delivering precise, even cooking and authentic flavors.
Nothing is pre-cooked. Every dish is prepared to order using fresh, seasonal, and carefully selected ingredients.
The wine list reflects the same philosophy, featuring small independent winemakers who work with deep respect for their land and environment.

A constant dialogue with farmers, breeders, growers, producers, and winemakers allows Comfort Home Restaurant to source the finest artisanal ingredients, creating a dining experience that is authentic, refined, and unmistakably personal.
