Starogard Gdański, Poland, 21 October 2026 – As the season of Christmas markets and winter outdoor events begins, many exhibitors find that equipment that works well in an exhibition hall does not always cope outdoors. RETIO, a supplier of display and advertising systems delivering across the European Union via retio.eu, has put together five practical recommendations.1. Structure: a pop-up (scissor) tent with a steel or aluminium frame and side walls protects goods and staff. Ask the organiser in advance whether ground anchoring is allowed; if not, plan ballast weights for every leg.
2. Flags: each advertising flag needs a base suited to the surface – a ground spike for grass, a cross base with a water bag, or a concrete base for paving.
3. Roll-ups: a standard roll-up banner is an indoor display. Outdoors it belongs inside the tent, out of the wind.
4. Legibility: it gets dark early in winter, so high-contrast colours and short messages remain readable under artificial light.
5. Storage: let printed fabrics dry before folding them, and they will last several seasons.
"Outdoor events forgive less than an exhibition hall. Stability and simple assembly matter more than visual effects," says Paweł Scharmach, founder of RETIO.
