Bunkerise Offers Canadians a Calm Path to the 72-Hour Standard

Vancouver based Bunkerise shares its free 72-Hour Checklist and household plan workbook to help Canadians meet the federal 72-hour preparedness standard.

VANCOUVER, B.C., October 29, 2026. The Government of Canada asks households to be prepared to take care of themselves for at least 72 hours in an emergency. For many Canadians the hazards are familiar: earthquakes on the West Coast, wildfire smoke and evacuation orders in many provinces, and long winter power outages.

Vancouver based Bunkerise publishes guides built for those hazards. The Cascadia Earthquake Playbook explains what happens in earthquake country and what to do before, during and after. Wildfire Ready: The Evacuation Guide covers alerts, a 10 minute leave protocol, a packable go bag and a smoke plan for those who stay home.

Bunkerise starts with a plan rather than a shopping list. Its free 72-Hour Checklist sets out quantities per person, the water math and a last 60 seconds grab list. The 72-Hour Household Plan workbook turns that into meeting points, an out of area contact, utility shutoffs, medication, children, pets and wallet cards for everyone in the home. Both are written to be read in an evening and acted on in a weekend.

Bunkerise guides are educational and are designed as a bridge to official guidance, not a replacement for it. In an emergency, instructions from local authorities come first.

"Canadians already know the 72-hour standard. What we hear is that people are unsure where to start. Start with the plan on paper, then fill the gaps one weekend at a time," said Kathy Bunkerise, spokesperson for Bunkerise.
