Sydney, Australia, 28 August 2026Australian digital broker platform AutoCalc has published the results of a defined verification run and is inviting mortgage brokers to contribute practical feedback to its continued development.
Conducted on 4 August 2026, the verification exercise compared 166 figures with 27 lender workbooks. A total of 164 figures matched, while the two differences are disclosed publicly on AutoCalc’s Accuracy page. The results relate to this specific verification run and do not constitute a guarantee for every future scenario.
AutoCalc was founded by Peter Liu, a practising Sydney mortgage broker, and Sam Zhan, a senior engineering leader with experience in financial systems. The platform began with a problem Peter encountered in his own work: interpreting complex income information, checking it against lender requirements and maintaining enough visibility over the process to apply professional judgement with confidence.
The platform is designed to support this workflow. AI is used to read and organise payslip information. Deterministic logic performs the calculations. The broker then reviews the extracted information, confirms or reclassifies items where required and decides how the result should be used. The lender’s assessment remains final.
AutoCalc’s verification exercise was conducted to compare selected platform outputs with the corresponding figures in lender workbooks. Publishing both the matched figures and the two differences is intended to give brokers a clearer view of the scope and limitations of the exercise.
The platform is not being developed around a fixed assumption about how every brokerage should work. Feedback from brokers using AutoCalc in real cases is treated as development input. This feedback may identify a clearer workflow, a scenario that requires further consideration or an area where the platform should provide better visibility before a broker proceeds.
This approach reflects the different experience each founder brings. Peter contributes the perspective of a broker working directly with clients, lender policy and serviceability questions. Sam turns those practical requirements into a platform that can be maintained, tested and improved over time.
In sample runs, payslip processing averaged approximately 15 seconds, although actual processing time varies depending on the document. The purpose is not to remove the broker from the decision. It is to reduce repetitive handling while keeping the review process visible.
The AutoCalc team is now asking brokers to identify where the platform genuinely helps and where further improvement is required. The founders believe that feedback from people dealing with these details in their everyday work provides valuable direction for the platform’s continued development.
Mortgage brokers who would like to share practical workflow feedback can contact the team through AutoCalc’s We’re All Ears channel.
