FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OLNEY, Ill. (Oct. 2, 2026) - Aerostratospheric, an Illinois nonprofit, is a Stripe Climate member and contributes 1% of its revenue to carbon removal. Its public Stripe Climate profile, at https://climate.stripe.com/d9VYRp, states: "At Aerostratospheric, we contribute 1% of our revenue to carbon removal."

The profile explains that "a fraction of every purchase from Aerostratospheric helps new carbon removal technologies scale." Through Stripe Climate, Aerostratospheric is part of "a coalition of businesses accelerating carbon removal," which the profile lists at 25,000+ businesses in 39 countries. Stripe Climate aggregates funds from businesses around the world to increase demand for carbon removal and works with Frontier to purchase permanent carbon removal.

"At Aerostratospheric, we believe businesses can play a critically important role in helping fight climate change. We're proud to fund next-generation carbon removal," the profile reads.

GOING GREEN CERTIFIED™ we contribute 1% of our revenue to carbon removal. The commitment is one part of Aerostratospheric's Going Green Certified™ Initiative (Program ID GG-01), the organization's public environmental program for its science flights. High-altitude balloons have no engine and burn no fuel in flight, and Aerostratospheric operates electric vehicles for fill, chase, and recovery. The organization publishes its own carbon estimate instead of claiming zero impact: about 45 kg CO₂e per X2Griffon-class science flight, almost all of it on the ground, from helium production, materials, freight, electric-vehicle charging, and workshop power. Store purchases help Aerostratospheric buy Renewable Energy Credits to match its remaining electrical load.

The full Going Green page, including the per-flight carbon breakdown and how the numbers were built, is at https://www.midwestsds.com/carbon-impact.html.

Aerostratospheric welcomes collaboration with researchers, educators, and partners on open atmospheric data and lower-impact flight operations. A short conversation can be booked at https://calendly.com/aerostratospheric/15min.
