The AI in Marketing 2026 Executive Survey, conducted by Sansu Abraham, Founder of Simply Sansu, gathered responses from 29 business leaders across 11 countries and four continents. The survey examines how business leaders view AI in marketing, including adoption, investment, trust, and the challenges associated with integrating AI into business workflows. The findings point to an important shift in the conversation around AI. Businesses are continuing to invest in artificial intelligence even as concerns about the reliability and quality of AI-generated output remain.
Investment Is Growing Despite Trust Concerns
The survey found that 97% of respondents are increasing their AI budgets, demonstrating continued confidence in the importance of AI as a business capability.
At the same time, 76% of business leaders said they don't trust what AI produces.
This gap between investment and trust raises an important question for organizations adopting AI: how can businesses increase their use of AI while maintaining appropriate levels of human judgment, quality control, and oversight?
The findings come at a time when AI has moved beyond experimentation and become increasingly integrated into marketing and business operations. Other 2026 research has similarly found that organizations are increasing AI investment while facing challenges around readiness, governance, and translating investment into measurable value.
AI Adoption Requires More Than Investment
The survey suggests that increasing an AI budget does not necessarily mean organizations have resolved the challenges surrounding AI implementation.
For businesses, the growing use of AI brings practical questions around the accuracy of AI-generated content, human oversight, strategic decision-making, and how organizations can use AI without compromising quality or trust.
"As businesses increase their AI investment, the trust gap deserves just as much attention," said Sansu Abraham, Founder of Simply Sansu. "AI can increase efficiency and expand what marketing teams can accomplish, but investment alone does not solve questions around accuracy, quality, and human judgment. Businesses need to think about how AI fits into their workflows, not simply how much they can spend on it."
